His father beat him. I divorced him the moment I found out, but the damage was done. At nineteen, Andrew developed excruciating TMJ pain. The surgery that followed introduced him to OxyContin. The OxyContin led to heroin. The heroin led to fentanyl.
Three times, I nearly lost him.
We tried everything. Multiple therapists. Drug counselors. Psychologists. Psychiatrists. Even the therapist who treated Robert Downey Jr, a close friend who had officiated my wedding, came to our house, worked with Andrew over the phone, brought all his expertise.
Andrew didn't stop.

That's when I asked myself one question: “What am I going to do? Watch my son die right in front of me, or become the expert on the mind and save his life?”
I chose to become the expert.
I went back to school. Earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. Trained in Time Line Therapy with Tad James. NLP with Richard Bandler. Clinical hypnotherapy. EMDR. Life coaching.
I applied every modality to Andrew. Each gave temporary relief. None lasted. So, I went deeper. Through research, prayer, and meditation, I created something entirely new: Life Map Therapy™.
When I applied it to Andrew, I finally saw what I'd been searching for: a complete shift of identity. I reframed his entire map. I gave new meaning to his narrative. I deprogrammed and reprogrammed his subconscious mind.
